The Building Blocks to Reading TM program simplifies the teaching of beginning reading for teachers and students. Teachers teach vowel word patterns in structured, sequential lessons using detailed lesson plans.

Student Books 1 and 1A build CVC short vowel pattern words by sounds.

Student Book 1 introduces 5 sight words (I, see, the, a, to)
Student Book 1A introduces 8 new sight words (put, for, from, of, what, who, where, whom)

Student Book 2 introduces long vowel patterns, irregular sound patterns, endings, and spelling words.

Student Book 2 introduces 22 new sight words (said, live, do, too, you, are, were, have, two, please, come, there, says, river, one, some, orange, they, their, above, Mr., could)
