Writing:
(Teacher-Directed)
Have the student write
a language experience story describing how a rainy
day could be fun.
Have the student sound
out the CVC short vowel pattern words and the CV
long vowel pattern words in the story.
Write CVVC
long vowel pattern words on the chalkboard as needed.
If the student asks
for a CVCV long vowel pattern word, tell the student
it can be decoded because it is the magic e
pattern.
Give positive reinforcement
with the spelling patterns that the beginning
reader is expected to know. Help with other words as needed.
Have the student illustrate
the story and then read it orally.
